TINY TIGERS PROGRAMME (AGES 5/6)

Our Tiny Tigers Programme is an age specific training curriculum focused on developing a child’s basic motor skills, listening skills and the ability to pay attention and follow directions.

 

Our program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect and discipline. We build clear minds and strong bodies, improving attention spans, increasing hand-eye coordination and above all offer a class which is fun and engaging!

 

Classes run for 50 minutes and include drills introducing flexibility, coordination and martial arts.

CHILDRENS (AGES 7-15)

The goal of any Martial Arts Instructor is to train children to defend themselves and better prepare them to cope with the pressures and problems of growing up. This means confidence in their ability to defend themselves, confidence in setting realistic goals and confidence in the decisions they make in order to achieve the goals they have set.

 

Within the class, Instructors are trained to motivate the children through positive encouragement towards better standards of technique, attitude and behaviour. By learning self-discipline and self-control, martial arts students are able to motivate themselves to act appropriately both inside and outside of class.

TEENAGERS (AGES 13 – 17)

Our classes for teens help prepare our students for the challenges and opportunities they will meet as they grow into young adults and members of our society.

 

We focus on the areas of self-defence, discipline and fitness, helping them build their confidence, a positive self-image and attitude. These character traits will empower them to deal with the pressures of life as a teen in this world.

 

Many of our teens go on to take on leadership opportunities at our school, becoming role models for our younger students and learning how to both lead and assist in classes.

ADULTS (AGES 18+)

At Kenton Martial Arts we treat every student as an individual. Everybody is accepted for who they are, regardless of race, sex, creed or disability. Our basic premise is that we all share a common goal: SELF IMPROVEMENT.

 

Our goal is to help every student develop to his or her fullest potential. We look to motivate, train and support our students to defend themselves against an actual physical attack and to better cope with realistic situations of conflict.

 

Comparing progress and performances against other students promotes an element of competitiveness and causes unnecessary stress. Students should devote their time more to training for themselves and enjoying their training.

 

Our Adult Classes offer a friendly atmosphere where we work hard with the help and support of those around us.

 

Each class is designed to offer both variety and quality instruction.

WOMEN’S SELF DEFENCE WORKSHOPS

Our interactive workshops will introduce you to basic practical self-defence techniques to better protect you from potentially dangerous situations.

 

During the workshop you will practice strikes, kicks and footwork to help gain a better understanding of personal self-defence. You will also learn about situational awareness and how to avoid potentially dangerous encounters.

YOUTH SELF DEFENCE WORKSHOPS

Our youth self defence workshops are aimed at a younger audience making t practical self defence engaging, educational and most importantly effective. We want to encourage our students to be confident, assertive and use techniques to better protect them in any situation they find themselves in.

Our workshops are aimed at children between the ages of 10 and 15. No previous experience is required and all fitness levels are welcome.
